If you are from India you might be familiar  with the word Tablet. Well a new entrant in the tablet category is Simmtronics, which claim’s to make all of their tablets here  in our home land India. A lot of other major Indian  companies like Micromax and Karbonn have their tablets in our markets this one is the cheapest of all the brand’s available in India. So here are the 3 tablets made by them one of them almost as cheap as the Datawind 7Ci (Akash 2).

Simmtronics Xpad X720

Simmtronics Xpad X720 is an Android Ice Cream Sandwich tablet with 7 inch capacitive WVGA display.  With 800X480 PPI with 16M colors It has 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor and 512 RAM for smooth performance.  In connectivity segment, it has Wi-Fi, 3G (via dongle),  and USB interface.  The tablet has a 0.3MP camera on the front side of the body for self-portrait and video chat, which is also capable of recording videos. The 4GB internal storage of the device lets users store ample amount of data. Other features include, multi format audio and video player, 2800 mAh battery, and 32GB expandable memory. Simmtronics Xpad X801 is again an Android Ice Cream Sandwich tablet with 2G voice calling support. The tablet sports an 8 inch capacitive touchscreen with a pixel resolution of 800x600p. It has 1.2GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, complimented well by a 512MB DDR3 RAM. There is a 2MP camera on the back side of the body; a 0.3MP front camera is there for video chat and self-portrait. Sufficient amount of data can be stored with the 8GB built-in memory of the tablet. Other features include, multi format audio and video player, 4000 mAh battery, and 32GB expandable memory. The tablet is fairly heavy at 500g and with the 4000 mAh battery it offers 5 hrs of usage, comes with Google play pre-loaded for tons of app’s.

Simmtronics Xpad X-1010

Simmtronics Xpad X1010 is again an Android IceCream Sandwich tablet but with a 10 inch capacitive display with a pixel resolution of 1024×600. It has 1.2GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor and 1GB DDR3 RAM for smooth performance. On connectivity segment, it has Wi-Fi, 3G (via dongle), and USB interface. The tablet has a 0.3MP camera on the front side of the body for self-portrait and video chat, it is also capable of recording videos. The 8GB internal storage of the device lets users store as much data as they want. Other features include, multi format audio and video player, 5600 mAh battery, and 32GB expandable memory. The weight of the tablet is again on the heavier side with 610g with a 1024×600 PPI with 16 M colors it has am HDMI port for you to connect it to your T.V with 2 micro USB ports On the camera front it disappoints us as  it has only a 0.3 MP front facing camera and a lack of a rear camera is not appreciated as the Xpad X-801 has a rear camera. With the 5600 mAh battery at least 6 hrs of usage is  promised. A accelerometer and G-Sensors are also provided, comes with Google play pre-loaded for tons of app’s.

Bottom line : According to me only the Xpad 720 is worth the price. For other tablets I say pass with them as you can get better product for the price.
